Day 1: Arrive Santiago, Chile
Arrive in Santiago, the charming capital city of Chile, where you are met and transferred to your hotel, enjoying guaranteed early check-in. This afternoon, enjoy time at leisure to relax or explore the city on your own. This evening, gather for a welcome briefing led by your A&K Resident Tour Director, followed by dinner at the hotel’s elegant Estró Restaurant. (D)

Day 2: Santiago | Taste the Renowned Fruit of Chile’s Vines
This morning, embark on a city tour that offers a complete look at Santiago’s most important areas, along with beautiful panoramic views. Drive to the Mercado Central to view this colorful local marketplace before taking a short walk to Plaza de Armas, the city’s most famous square. Gaze at the beautiful surrounding buildings, including the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral. Nearby, enjoy a tour of the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. Next, depart the city for a visit to the local wine district, viewing Palacio de La Moneda, seat of the president of the Republic of Chile, along the way. Chilean wines have come to prominence in recent years, owing to their exceptional character. This results from several factors, including the ideal combination of sunny days, cool nights and excellent soil in Chile’s long Central Valley. Visit an acclaimed family-owned winery for a private sampling, and to learn about Chilean cuisine during a Chef’s Table experience. After lunch, return to your luxurious hotel where your evening is at leisure. (B L)

Day 3: Pucón | In the Shadow of Villarrica Volcano
Fly to Temuco, gateway to the gorgeous Chilean Lake District. Then, journey overland to Pucón, a lakeside town renowned for its soothing hot springs and breathtaking views of Villarrica Volcano. Upon arrival at Vira Vira, tour the farm and visit the dairy and cheese factory located on the Hacienda grounds or float leisurely down the river before enjoying a delicious lunch prepared with locally grown produce. Afterward, simply relax or opt for an excursion available from your hotel. Choose an adventure tailored to your interests, such as trekking in the Cordilleras or hiking in a nearby natural park. Tonight, meet with your hotel’s excursion manager to arrange your next day’s activities, perhaps kayaking on the Trancura River, or sailing on Villarrica Lake. (B L D)

Day 4: Pucón | Heritage of the Mapuche
Start the day with an optional sunrise yoga session, and then explore your beautiful surroundings, choosing from an activity available from your hotel. Or instead, opt to experience the mystic ambience of the ancient Mapuche territories on your own. Extending from southern Chile into western Argentina, they remain the home of Chile’s indigenous peoples whose collective history dates back to 600 BC. Vira Vira guides are passionate about their work and excited to share their knowledge of the Mapuche’s heritage with you. (B L D)

Day 5: Pucón/Bariloche, Argentina | Patagonian Flavors
Journey into the Lake District, rewarded by panoramic views of deep blue mountain lakes, snow-capped volcanos and ancient forests. Pause along the way to try yerba mate — a local caffeineinfused drink, as well as Patagonian cheese and chocolate, craft beer and local wine. Arrive in picturesque Bariloche for a delightful two-night stay. (B L D)

Day 6: Bariloche | A Visit to “Little Switzerland”
Today, tour the postcard-perfect Alpine region many call “Little Switzerland.” Hike the surrounding woodlands, and then make an artisan visit to a local brewery. Meet the brewmeister and enjoy a tasting. This afternoon, drive to Playa Serena to toast the sunset on a Scenic Sundowner with your A&K Resident Tour Director. (B)

Day 7: Buenos Aires | Tango Lesson & Exclusive Show
After a leisurely breakfast, fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s stylish capital, and check in to your hotel. Then, experience a private tango demonstration and lesson from performers at the famed Rojo Tango, followed by a thrilling, exclusive tango show performance and dinner at the Rojo Tango cabaret. Get caught up in the passion, precision and glamour of these renowned professional dancers, as they perform to the accompaniment of a live orchestra, and dine on traditional Argentine dishes paired with select local wines. (B D)

Day 8: Buenos Aires | Historical Buenos Aires
Explore cosmopolitan Buenos Aires on a city tour that includes Plaza de Mayo — the political heart of the city, the old quarters of San Telmo and the colorful La Boca district with La Bombonera, as well as some landmarks connected to the “Peronismo” legacy. After a light lunch at a traditional local café, return to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. (B L)

Day 9: Buenos Aires | Inspiring Teatro Colón
Today, continue your exploration of Buenos Aires on a tour that includes the beautiful parks of Palermo, and visit the beautiful Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires’ main opera house — considered one of the five best concert venues in the world owing to its incredible acoustics. Return for some free time before gathering for your festive farewell dinner. (B D)

Day 10: Depart Buenos Aires
Enjoy a historical tour of your hotel and the Recoleta neighborhood this morning. Visit La Recoleta Cemetery, last resting place of Eva Perón, Argentina’s beloved and controversial former First Lady. Continue to lunch. Then, take advantage of your late checkout before transferring to the airport this evening for your flight home. (B L)
