Daily Departures through December 2010! Day 1 Arrive Tortuguero Pick up is early at hotel in San José for your half-day journey to Tortuguero by road and boat. Pass through parks and spot exotic wildlife on an enjoyable boat ride along the Tortuguero River, before arriving at the lodge for a delicious lunch buffet. Days 2 & 3 Tortuguero Wake early to the sounds and sights of the jungle as it comes alive in the early morning, then enjoy guided hikes in this tropical rainforest park, home to countless species of fauna and flora. There are plenty of optional activities, including a jungle tour, kayaking down the waterways, swimming and hiking. Day 4 Depart Tortuguero Head back to San José. (BL)

A 4-day adventure exploring Tortuguero Park and its network of scenic navigable canals. Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites in the Caribbean for the endangered Atlantic Green Sea turtle (prime nesting season is June to October). Watch 150kg turtles up close as they dig their nests and lay eggs, trance-like, in the soft sand. A close encounter you’ll never forget!
