DAY 3, Sunday - City Tour of Panama City and Canal
This morning, depart for Old Panama (Panama La Vieja). The city was founded by Pedrarias Davila in August of 1519 and is the oldest Spanish settlement in the Pacific. See the Amador Causeway, a narrow land-bridge, built with rocks excavated during the construction of the Panama Canal, that connects the continent with four islands next to the Pacific Ocean entrance to the Panama Canal. After lunch at leisure, continue to Miraflores Locks Visitor Center. From large balconies, watch as the lock gates are opened and closed for ships to start or complete their journey through the Panama Canal. Return to Panama City for a walking tour of Casco Antiguo. Also known as Casco Viejo, Panama City’s historic district, Casco Antiguo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It contains a unique mix of architectural styles, each of them revealing part of the country’s fascinating history. Remainder of the evening is at leisure, or take an optional tour for dinner in Casco Viejo. (Breakfast)

Optional: Dinner in Casco Viejo

DAY 4, Monday - Travel to Chagres National Park, Embera Village
Begin your Embera adventure with the arrival in the rainforest at Chagres National Park, in the eastern sector of the Panama Canal. Here, transfer to a "piragua" (paddle dugout canoe) that takes you on a journey into the jungle to meet the indigenous Embera tribe known as the "keepers of the rainforest". You’ll be warmly welcomed by the Embera culture and lifestyle. View the women craft baskets out of palm leaves and demonstrate their native art. If time allows, explore some of the local flora and learn about the rituals and medicinal uses. The Embera Indians will offer you a specially prepared traditional meal before you return back to civilization. Transfer back to your hotel in Panama City. The balance of the day is at leisure. Later, enjoy tonight's Farewell Dinner with your fellow travelers. (
