Day 1: Welcome to La Paz, Bolivia
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted by private car to the comfortable Hotel Europa where we’ve arranged for early check-in. Take the morning to relax and acclimate to the altitude.  In the afternoon, your private sightseeing tour showcases the Colonial and modern districts of La Paz and also includes the bustling Indian Market, unique Witch Doctor’s Market and breathtaking vistas of the city and its mountain backdrop.

Day 2: From La Paz to Sun Island
Check out from your hotel after breakfast and travel to Huatajata to begin your voyage across the tranquil and sacred waters of Lake Titicaca. Browse the colorful local markets in Copacabana and continue to Moon Island and Sun Island to visit their ancient temple sites. Embark on an exciting but gentle llama trek to Posada del Inca for lunch and a restful overnight at the Posada del Inca Eco Lodge on Sun Island. You’ll also have some free time this afternoon to experience the landscapes and indigenous communities of the island. (B,L,D)

Day 3: From Sun Island to Huatajata
Depart your Lodge after breakfast and visit the Inca Staircase and Sacred Fountain, where you’ll have a chance to sip the sacred waters which the ancient Inca believed would offer eternal youth and happiness! After lunch, embark on a hydrofoil cruise to visit Titicaca’s remarkable floating islands, home to indigenous communities of the Uros people.

Arriving in Huatajata, you’ll visit the Antiplano Museum where a fascinating exhibit sheds light on the ancient cultural traditions of the region’s indigenous Aymara people. Then meet a member of the Kallawaya, an itinerant group of traditional healers who have long lived here in the high Andes Mountains of Bolivia. You’ll gain extraordinary insight into some of the ancient healing methods which they have used for nearly 1,000 years! Tonight you’ll have a chance to observe the constellations of the Southern Sky as your guide shares fascinating Aymara beliefs about the Heavens. Spend a restful overnight at the inviting Inca Utama Hotel & Spa here in Huatajata, a scenic highland town on the southeastern shores of Lake Titicaca. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Onward to Uyuni and Colchani
Transfer this morning to the airport in La Paz for your flight to Uyuni, where you’ll embark on a full-day excursion to the incredible Uyuni Salt Flat, one of the world’s most unusual natural wonders. Covering a vast expanse of nearly 7,500 square miles, this is the largest salt bed on Earth. Tour the Salt Museum in Colchani and see the ancient methods which are still used today to extract the salt. Then visit Inkawasi, an extraordinary island oasis of unique vegetation in the middle of the desolate salt pan. This evening’s sunset over this seemingly endless expanse of salt will be unforgettable. Tonight will be your first of two nights in  a most unusual hotel made of salt! (B,L,D)

Day 5: Excursion to Mt. Tunupa
Today’s full-day tour takes you to the impressive Tunupa Volcano, dramatically overlooking the vast Uyuni Salt Flat.
