World-famous Masai Mara National Reserve is a highlight of trips to Kenya. This sanctuary is frequently considered to be the best game-viewing park in the country, where zebras, gazelles, lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos roam the grasslands. Some itineraries also visit Maasai villages so travelers can meet the local people.
Other experiences can include Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for the thousands of brilliant pink flamingos that flock to its shores, and the Samburu Game Reserve, home to many rare species. Amboseli National Park is adjacent to Tanzania's 19,340-foot Mount Kilimanjaro, and its stunning snowcapped peak can be seen during game drives through the park.
