Georgetown Loop Railroad

One of Colorado's first visitor attractions, the Georgetown Loop Railroad was originally built in 1884 in the wake of an 1860s gold rush. This railway closed in the 1930s but within 40 years the Colorado Historical Society decided to restore it and visitors were able to once again travel the entire line in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary in 1984.

With the option of traveling in open cars, passengers will be able to truly experience the nature around them. While traveling Georgetown and Silver Plume, Georgetown Loop Railroad trains wind up Clear Creek Canyon and overlook the beautiful rugged Rocky Mountains.  The ride is about an hour long and as well as normal train journeys, Dinner Trains and Theme Trains are available.
