All This Included
When you think of the oldest European cities, what comes to mind? Rome? Athens? Lisbon? You may not have immediately thought of Lisbon. But sure enough, it’s even older than Rome! And no one brings you Lisbon like Monograms. We've arranged your hotel reservations, daily breakfast, and sightseeing. Plus, to ensure your Lisbon trip is all you want it to be, we’ve arranged the services of a Monograms Local Host®, a friend in the city to answer your questions, help you arrange activities, and offer suggestions so you will feel comfortable and confident in the city!
Your Lisbon vacation package begins as soon as you arrive in Lisbon. We can pick you up at the airport and seamlessly whisk you to your hotel, where your Local Host will greet you with a warm welcome and a set of materials to acquaint you with the city. The next day, after included breakfast, we will pick you up for sightseeing of Lisbon's must-see attractions. Accompanied by a Local Guide who will share the city's inside stories, you’ll visit Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back over 500 years and home to the tomb of Vasco da Gama. You'll walk through the Alfama, the ancient Moorish quarter characterized by narrow streets and cobblestone alleys. You’ll also stop for a photo of Belém Tower, built in the early 16th century to defend the city, and the Monument of Discoveries, a shrine dedicated to Portugal’s explorers.
You’ll also have a free day to explore Lisbon on your own (with the help of your Local Host). Perhaps climb to the Castle of São Jorge, the highest point in the city; walk along the river; or visit one of the city’s museums. You may also want to enjoy dinner while listening to fado, the local folk music popular in Lisbon. Be sure to ask your Local Host for suggestions.
Don’t forget we’ve included daily breakfast, so you’ll be energized and ready to explore this wonderful city. Between that and the sightseeing we’ve arranged, the accommodations we’ve reserved, and the access you’ll have to locals who can really give you a feel for the city, it is a dream vacation to Lisbon!
