Boxes instead of free checked bags:

Cayman Airways will accept a fragile or perishable item without a limited liability release if it:

·         Is packaged in the original factory-sealed container

·         Includes internal protective packing material

·         Is typically designed for shipping

Items that are not appropriately packaged, and are not assistive devices, will be accepted upon completion of a limited liability release.

During a Baggage Restriction:

One (1) box, instead of one (1) free bag of 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height) depending on class of service will be accepted free of charge.

In addition to the one carry-on item, you may bring free-of-charge items below:

·         One small personal article such as a briefcase, purse, day planner, small laptop computer, camera case, compact disk player or similar sized personal entertainment item

·         Personal aid devices such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, prosthetic devices and walking sticks, provided passenger is dependent on them

How a Bag is Measured

A bag will be weighed and measured to ensure that it meets the dimensional requirements for shipping. Baggage is measured by length + width + height. The dimensions of each measurement are added together to compose the total number of linear inches/ centimeters. The bag's thickest or widest part of the length, width and height will be measured.

Special Baggage

The following items, irrespective of their actual dimensions, may be considered one piece and accepted in lieu of one piece of checked baggage whose outside linear.dimensions are 62 inches.

·         One duffel bag, sea bag or B-4 bag.

·         One knapsack, backpack or rucksack.

·         One sleeping bag or bedroll.

·         Any portable musical instrument (including its container) not exceeding 39 inches in length.
