11 days with Celebrity Galapagos Cruises   Rating: Deluxe

Itinerary
Click for Dates and Prices Day 1 Quito, Ecuador
On the first day of your journey, you’ll be greeted at the airport by a Celebrity Cruises® representative and transferred to the JW Marriott hotel. Enjoy free time to relax and settle in.

Day 2 Quito, Ecuador
Breakfast is served at the hotel. During a guided tour of the capital of Ecuador, situated at an altitude of 9,350 feet, you'll stand on the equatorial line at the Middle of the World Park and Museum, and marvel at the monastery of San Francisco and La Compañia Church. Your Tour Director will escort you throughout your Quito stay and serve as your personal concierge. Lunch with a spectacular view of the city, and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local gourmet restaurant.

Day 3 Quito - Flight to Baltra Island - Embarkation & Chinese Hat Islet
Saturday AM
During World War II, Baltra served as a U.S. military base. Now the cactus-strewn landscapes of Baltra are home to the region's main airport and where you will meet the ship. From the airport, it is just a short bus and Zodiac ride to the ship.

Saturday PM
This small volcanic islet, shaped like a Chinese hat, is formed of hardened lava and spatter cones, which make for super scenic photos. Several species of Darwin's finches, Sally light-foot crabs and sea lions abound. Excursion options: walk, Zodiac.

Day 4 Dragon Hill, Santa Cruz Island & Rabida Island
Sunday AM
Named after its land iguanas, the site offers a beautiful view of a landscape and lagoons where flamingos and other shore birds feed. Along the trail, we'll cross a beautiful "white forest" of Palo Santo (incense) trees. Excursion options: walk, swim.

Sunday PM
Rabida is best known for its amazingly red sand and eroded volcanic landscape. A nesting colony of pelicans makes its home here, along with sea lions, finches, and Galapagos Hawks. Excursion options: Zodiac, walk, swim, kayak, snorkel.

Day 5 Villamil Port & Wall of Tears, Isabela Island
Monday AM
Welcome to the laid-back town of Puerto Villamil. An interpretive trail takes you around wetland lagoons to the Galapagos Giant Tortoise Center where you'll see hatchling and adult tortoises. The wetlands are home to a variety of birds. Excursion options: walk, swim.

Monday PM
When jailed in a penal colony here between 1944 and 1959, prisoners were forced to build the wall, stone by stone, only to be asked to tear it down again and start over. It is a lesson in history and a remnant of a cruel and intolerant time. Excursion option: walk.

Day 6 Post Office Bay & Baroness Outlook, Cormorant Point & Champion Island, Floreana Island
Tuesday AM
The post office barrel, established about 1793, is where pirates and whalers left mail to be picked up by outbound ships. The tradition continues today. The Baroness' Outlook was once inhabited by an indulgent baroness and her three lovers. Excursions include: Zodiac, walk, swim, snorkel.

Tuesday PM
Floreana's small brackish lagoon is home to flamingos, stilts, and white-cheeked pintail ducks. Check out the green-hued sand where you land! Champion provides a wonderful opportunity for snorkeling and seabirds. Excursion options: snorkel, Zodiac, walk, swim.

Day 7 Cerro Brujo (Warlock Hill) & Kicker Rock, Lobos Island, San Cristobal Island
Wednesday AM
Cerro Brujo is one of the first sites visited by Charles Darwin. Kicker Rock is the remains of a volcanic tuff cone rising almost 148 m out of the ocean. Boobies, frigate birds, and sea lions line the shore. Excursions include: circumnavigation, walk, swim, snorkel.

Wednesday PM
This island usually allows visitors to interact with sea lion pups, especially while snorkeling. We may also see blue-footed boobies, frigates, and even the second type of sea lion found in Galapagos-the Fur Sea Lion. Excursions include: walk, zodiac, snorkel.

Day 8 Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island
Thursday AM/PM
This is the main population center of the islands, and home to the National Park Service tortoise-breeding center and the Charles Darwin Research Station. You'll have the chance to visit the tortoise-breeding center and walk through the Research Station. You can also take a bus ride to the highlands to observe giant tortoises in the wild and walk through a lava tunnel. Optional time for shopping will be available. Excursion options: Tortoise-breeding Center/Charles Darwin Center, Highlands.

Day 9 Suarez Point & Gardner Bay, Espanola Island
Friday AM
Lazy sea lions and marine iguanas line the rocky landing. The 10,000 to 12,000 pairs of waved albatross here represent the vast majority of this species on the planet. They perform one of the most spectacular courtship rituals in the animal world. Excursion options: hike.

Friday PM
The beach here is home to one of the most important colonies of sea lions in the archipelago, and is also a nesting site for sea turtles. Three species of Darwin's finches and Española Mockingbirds may also be seen. Excursions include: swim, snorkel, kayak.

Day 10 Daphne Island & Baltra Disembarkation/Flight to Quito
Saturday AM
Daphne is a satellite volcanic cone located north of Santa Cruz Island. The crater floor is an important breeding site for blue-footed boobies. The cliff shore of the island is home to sea lions, pelicans, and other seabirds. Excursion options: circumnavigation.

Saturday PM
Baltra is the home to the region's main airport and where you will fly out. You'll have a Zodiac and bus ride to the airport. Upon your arrival in Quito, a Celebrity Cruises representative will escort you to the Wyndham hotel. Dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 11 Departure
On Sunday after breakfast, your Celebrity Cruises representative will once again escort you to the airport for your return flight home.
