Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and get settled in before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception drink and local appetisers in the grounds of the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum at 8 p.m. (Welcome Reception)

Take a full day to explore Hanoi's celebrated history. Visit the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument lavishly built using marble and granite, and where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” resides. A short walk from the mausoleum is Ho Chi Minh's stilt-supported house, a Unique Insight, and the lotus-shaped One Pillar Pagoda resting on a single stone pillar emerging from the water. Continue to the Temple of Literature, the first University for the sons of mandarins, for an overview of Hanoian culture and ancient Vietnamese architecture. After lunch at a local restaurant enjoy a walking tour through the Old Quarter to observe the bustling local life.  In the evening, see a traditional water puppet performance, a Unique Insight whose origin dates back over a thousand years, before indulging in a Vietnamese dinner at a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

This morning, drive through green rice paddy fields to Ha Long Bay where you board your Authentic Accommodation, a traditional Vietnamese Junk sailing boat, for a cruise among the hundreds of islets of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch before visiting a grotto of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites. Drop anchor later in the evening for a Highlight Dinner and a peaceful overnight stay afloat among the dramatic limestone rising up out of the emerald water. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Highlight Dinner)

Begin your day as the locals do during a morning Tai Chi class, a Local Speciality, on the deck of the traditional Junk boat. Indulge in a delectable brunch as you continue cruising amongst the 2,000 islands before arriving at the wharf. Disembark and drive back to Hanoi stopping at Dong Trieu Ceramic factory, a Local Speciality, where you learn from the local artisans about pottery and ceramic techniques. Take time to enjoy views of the Vietnamese agricultural scenery before enjoying an early supper at a surprise location. Continue onto Hanoi airport for the evening flight to Hue where, upon arrival, you are transferred to your luxurious resort hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Hue once served as an Imperial capital to the Nguyen Lords from the 17th to the 19th century. With splendid emperors' tombs, ancient pagodas and the remains of the Citadel, the city retains its royal charm.This morning take a cyclo ride from the hotel to the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter through the towering main gate and appreciate the magnificent architecture and gardens while you learn about the events and the intrigue of the former royal court. Despite being bombed heavily, there are some incredibly well preserved sections still intact. From there, transfer to the famous Thien Mu pagoda, Hue's best-preserved religious monument. Standing on the riverbank with its seven-storey tower, the pagoda is a sight to behold. From Thien Mu, return to Hue city by dragon boat for lunch by the riverside. After a busy morning sightseeing the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Tonight you have the option to dine on Royal cuisine, as it was known under the Nguyen Emperors, and enjoy melodious music at the Duyet Thi Duong theatre in the Citadel. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)

This morning visit the private bonsai garden of Ms. Ton Nu, a Local Expert, who teaches you about the preparation and fertilization of the land, along with techniques on how to identify an outstanding bonsai.  Later you have the option to explore one of the great remaining garden houses of Hue. Princess Ngoc Son was a daughter of Emperor Dong Khanh. Today it is one of the best garden houses in Hue and has been maintained largely in its original form. This afternoon depart Hue and drive over the scenic Hai Van Pass to enjoy the magnificent views. Stopping en-route at the Cham museum a Unique Insight, to learn about the ancient Champa civilisation with records dating as far back as 2nd century AD. Later arrive at your centrally located hotel in the heart of Hoi An - the perfect location to spend some time at leisure enjoying the variety of riverside cafes, restaurants, shops and the local market. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)

This morning is at leisure to relax at your centrally located hotel or take an optional excursion to My Son Cham towers, constructed between the 4th and the 14th century AD by the kings of Champa. The temples are dedicated to the worship of the god Shiva. The My Son temple complex is regarded as one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in South-East Asia. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour around the ancient town of Hoi An. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a prosperous trading port. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed ancient town boasts well-preserved buildings and unique cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past. There is plenty to visit including the old merchant houses with influences from the Chinese, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge; the Chinese Assembly Hall with outstanding wood carvings; and the colourful market with stalls brimming with Local Specialities including silk, which can be turned into fashionable garments within a day or two. Later in the afternoon you might like to join an optional Vietnamese cooking class working with a private chef who will teach the traditional methods of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure to wander the peaceful colourfully lantern lit streets of this picturesque town. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 9 HOI AN
Start the day with a visit to Tra Que Organic village, walk through the market gardens where local farmers work their fields using the traditional methods. Spend some time helping local farmers with their daily working routines, before indulging in a foot massage a Local Speciality. Later enjoy a delicious Be My Guest lunch with a local farming family. Return to Hoi An Village for the rest of the day at leisure for you to explore Hoi An's many riverside restaurants or relax at your centrally located hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Be My Guest Dining)

This morning, fly to Vietnam's largest city, Ho Chi Minh City formally known as Saigon. Begin with a walking tour to admire Saigon's historic landmarks, discover some of the beautiful French colonial buildings built in the late 19th and early 20th century including the famous Continental Hotel where Graham Greene penned “The Quiet American.” Appreciate the splendidly restored exteriors of the Opera House and the former Hotel de Ville which are still two of the finest buildings in Saigon. Wander up to the Notre Dame Cathedral with twin spires based on the original construction from Paris. Then head across the square to the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect, Gustav Eiffel. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant take a short drive to the former Presidential Palace, the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war. Continue to the War Remnants Museum which is a sombre but important reminder of the conflicts in Vietnam over the past century. Conclude the day at Ben Thanh market before arriving at your centrally located hotel to relax for the evening after a busy day of sightseeing. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)

This morning is free to explore the local shops or take some time to rest and enjoy the facilities in your hotel. This afternoon  transfer by speedboat to the famous Cu Chi tunnels. This river journey provides a glimpse of the changing faces of Vietnam – from the glittering skyscrapers and busy commercial centres to green paddy fields and pottery villages dotted along the Saigon River. The tunnel complex was initially started in 1948 to protect the Viet Cong guerrillas from the French air and ground sweeps. A Local Expert joins you to show how tunnels served as communication routes, storage facilities as well as hospitals and living quarters for guerrilla fighters throughout the war. Later, return to the hotel to freshen up and relax before visiting the home of the old American Ambassador to South Vietnam in the 1960s, Mr. Henry Cabot Lodge, a Unique Insight. Mr. Lodge lived in this home between 1960-1965 and the architecture is a mix of Vietnamese, French and American. Today it remains a private residence and it has been fully restored to its former glory. Enjoy an exclusive Highlight Dinner at the old Ambassadors house. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

Today head south to My Tho situated in the Delta of the Mekong River. Cruise along An Hoa river for a glimpse at the Delta scenery, make a stop at Huu Phuoc canals to transfer to a sampan to discover the maze of small canals. Continue cruising the peaceful scenery and daily life along the river bank before stopping for a Highlight Lunch of delicious Mekong Delta specialities. After lunch,walk along the shady village roads to the house of a former soldier who survived fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper, a Local Speciality. Enjoy taking time to stop and talk to the villagers and see their way of life before departing for the trip back to Saigon where you are free to spend the evening at leisure exploring the local restaurants or enjoy your hotel's roof top bar. After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short International flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in. This afternoon is at leisure to absorb the tranquillity of your luxurious spa hotel. Later take an optional cruise to Chong Kneas, Siem Reap's most famous floating village. Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, observing local life on the lake while the sun sets over the horizon, before transferring back to your resort spa hotel. (Buffet Breakfast)

After breakfast, visit the Angkor National Museum, which is home to a comprehensive collection of Cambodian artefacts showcasing the origins of Khmer art, culture, and architecture. Afterwards, drive to the ancient royal city of Khmer Empire with its centre piece, the Bayon temple. As you approach, notice the enigmatic faces of former King Jayavarman VII looking into every direction. Later visit the Terrace of the Elephants, which served as a platform from where the King could welcome back his victorious army. See the Terrace of the Leper King, which holds detailed carvings winding along a narrow passage way that leads to the Baphuon complex. Return to Siem Reap to rest and enjoy lunch before continuing to the picturesque temple of Ta Prohm, a jungle-clad temple overgrown with fig trees. The magnificent roots of the trees have merged over the centuries with the temple's huge stone blocks, emphasizing a ‘forgotten city' feeling. This evening is at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)

Visit Angkor Wat, one of then most important religious monuments in the world, with a renowned Khmer scholar who shares their vast experience and gives you a concise overview of Khmer history, culture, archaeology and civilisation. Take a stroll through the elaborate carved hallways of Angkor Wat as the Khmer empire is brought to life through the scholar’s explanations of the various stories contained in each of the bas relief and murals. This evening enjoy a wonderful Farewell Dinner accompanied by traditional Apsara Dancing. (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)
