California wine tours offer participants opportunities to visit the wineries and sample the vintages of the Napa and Sonoma valleys. A ride aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train is part of some trips; the short rail excursion winds through picturesque scenery at a leisurely pace. Itineraries can also include an optional hot-air balloon ride over the rolling vineyards. Visits to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe or Yosemite National Park might also be incorporated into a wine country sojourn.
