It's a gateway to the Uffizi Gallery, which houses a magnificent collection that includes works by Michelangelo, da Vinci, Botticelli and Raphael. Il Duomo, a cathedral with an intricately decorated facade, is another prime attraction, as is the sculpture "David," created by Michelangelo and now on view in the Galleria dell'Accademia.
