DAY 1 ARRIVE ARUSHA, TANZANIA
Arrive in Arusha and transfer to your lodge, situated on a working coffee plantation spanning some 2,100 acres, and featuring beautifully furnished chalets.

DAY 2 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK | DESIGN YOUR DAY
This morning, enjoy one of these Design Your Day activities:
  • Visit Ilboru Primary School, a project supported by A&K Philanthropy, to meet students facing special challenges.
  • Explore a Coffee Estate, walking the plantation to see how fine local coffee is grown, harvested, dried and produced.
  • Tour the Shanga Workshop with a private guide to learn about the unique, handmade jewelry created on site.
Return to your lodge for lunch. Then, fly to Tarangire National Park, where open grasslands, acacia trees and the Tarangire River paint a wild landscape, and settle into your tented safari camp. Embark on an afternoon game drive in search of giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeest, zebras and elephants. Keep your eyes trained for hartebeest, gazelles and exotic birds like the bateleur and martial eagle. Your local expert driver-guide draws on years of experience in the bush to locate the best wildlife viewing opportunities right as they happen. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 3 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK | ABUNDANT GAME VIEWING
Today, set out on morning and afternoon game drives in search of abundant wildlife. This evening, you may choose an optional game drive by moonlight (at an additional cost). As dusk falls, relax in the comfort of your safari vehicle as you venture into the park, as it is transformed by night. Search for nocturnal animals rarely seen by visitors. Among the species, you may encounter an African wildcat or the elusive leopard, or you may feel the round eyes of a bush baby peering down at you. With specialized lighting, look for lions and hyenas as well as smaller creatures such as spotted servals, bat-eared foxes and owls. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 4 NGORONGORO CRATER | AMPHITHEATER OF ANIMALS
As you cross the Great Rift Valley, stop to visit a market in Mto wa Mbu, where stalls brim with colorful local produce. Then, see the village from a different perspective as you ride on a tuk-tuk, viewing the local community and rice fields as you go. Take a scenic drive to tranquil Gibb’s Farm, where you stop for a lunch made with organic, fresh-picked ingredients. Later, arrive just outside the natural amphitheater of Ngorongoro Crater, a 2,000-foot-deep caldera that offers a fascinating microcosm of East African wildlife — including buffalo, flamingos, lions and leopards. Arrive at your camp nestled in a wooded area with easy access to the crater floor and featuring elegant, tented accommodations adorned with handwoven rugs, comfortable beds with crisp linens, and en suite bathrooms with flush toilets. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 5 NGORONGORO CRATER | EXPLORE A NATURAL WILDLIFE HAVEN
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast expanse where a variety of animal activity is commonplace. This afternoon, visit with an elder at a Maasai village to learn about the tribe’s traditional, nomadic lifestyle and coexistence with wildlife. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 6 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | SEARCHING THE VAST PLAINS
Fly to Serengeti National Park and settle into your safari camp. Then, set out on the boundless Serengeti, one of the oldest and least-changed ecosystems on earth, where lions, hyenas and leopards all roam. Depending on your choice of departure, you may also witness the spectacular Great Migration herds feasting on the tall grass or making their way in search of greener plains. Tonight, as the equatorial sun hangs low over the plains, sip a sundowner cocktail and reflect on the majesty of Africa. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 7 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | WHERE THE BIG FIVE ROAM
Venture out on morning and afternoon game drives in the protected Serengeti refuge, where flowing rivers support a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. In addition to the Big Five (lions, elephants, Cape buffalo, leopards and rhinos), keep your camera handy for a cheetah bolting after a fleet Thomson’s gazelle. Enjoy ideal game viewing throughout your time in the bush, as your highly experienced driver-guide strives continually to keep you in the heart of the action. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 8 DEPART ARUSHA
Fly to Arusha. Relax in a comfortable dayroom in anticipation of your flight home, and enjoy a lunch at the lodge. Later, transfer to the airport and depart. (Breakfast, Lunch)
