Day 1 • Arrive Kunming
Arrive in the city of Kunming at the foot of the Himalayas and the capital of Yunnan Province. It is also known as China’s gateway to Southeast Asia, with influences of Burma, Thailand, Vietnam and other minorities. This afternoon, tour the Bird and Flower market in the old town of Kunming and visit Bamboo Temple with 500 Arhat statues built during the Qing Dynasty.
Day 2 • Kunming
Today, visit the Golden Temple built during the Qing Dynasty (1671 A.C.) to see the largest bronze house in China. Then, enjoy a rare experience, as you take an excursion to the legendary Stone Forest, where you can marvel at the enthralling labyrinth of jagged limestone crags naturally created under water 270 million years ago. Transfer back to Yunnan Province for dinner made up of flavors unique to the region. While enjoying the food, watch a fascinating performance by artists of Kunming's minority nationalities. (AB, DS)
Day 3 • Depart Kunming
Transfer to the airport for your flight onward. (AB)
