DAY 1, Saturday - Depart for Canada
Arrive in Calgary, Alberta's major city and gateway to the Canadian Rockies. Tonight, meet your Tour Manager, who will introduce you to the exciting journey through Canada that awaits you. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 7 pm on the day of arrival. We recommend that you select flights which arrive in your destination no later than 5 pm on Day 1 of the itinerary or earlier, if possible.

DAY 2, Sunday - Calgary City Tour, Canmore, Travel to Banff
This morning, embark on a city tour of Calgary. Set dramatically between prairies and peaks, Calgary is a chic metropolis, buzzing with innovative energy while embracing its rich western heritage. Drive past the major sites to see a combination of historical, architectural and vintage landmarks of this diverse city. Continue on to the town of Canmore, nestled along the banks of the Bow River in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. After lunch at leisure, continue to Banff. Enjoy the unparalleled mountain scenery as you approach wondrous Banff National Park, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled in the very heart of the magnificent Canadian Rockies, the snow-capped mountains, glistening glaciers and sweeping panoramas are just one part of the allure of Banff. This afternoon, perhaps join the optional Cave & Basin and Banff Gondola Ride. Visit the Cave & Basin National Historic Site, the geographical birthplace of Canada’s National Park System. Afterward, soar to the top of Sulphur Mountain via gondola to experience a stunning bird's-eye view of six incredible mountain ranges. Tonight, perhaps explore the dining scene in Banff with a wide choice of western saloons, English pubs and international restaurants. (Breakfast)

DAY 3, Monday - Banff National Park
Enjoy a leisurely morning, or begin the day with an optional Sleigh Ride through the snow-covered meadows with the spectacular backdrop of the Rockies. Afterward, explore the wondrous Banff National Park. Follow the Tunnel Mountain drive for spectacular scenery and continue along the shores of Two Jack Lake and Lake Minnewanka, "Water of the Spirits", a gorgeous lake in the eastern area of Banff where First Nations people inhabited the areas around 10,000 years ago. Later, return to Banff for an afternoon at leisure, or participate in the optional Introduction to Curling to learn more about the history and rules of this iconic winter sport. Try your hand at a friendly game to show off your newly acquired skills! Tonight, perhaps discover the delights of this charming village with its trendy shops and local delicacies. (Breakfast)

DAY 4, Tuesday - Lake Louise, Banff National Park
This morning, depart for stunning Lake Louise, symbolic of the quintessentially Canadian mountain scene. The glacial lake, known for its sparkling blue waters, is located at the base of impressive glacier-clad pearks. This area is one of the most astonishingly picturesque areas of Banff National Park. From here, return to Banff for an afternoon at leisure, or join the optional Johnston Canyon Icewalk. Experience the winter wonderland of Banff’s Johnston Canyon. Discover a world of frozen waterfalls and blue ice pillars during you hike. (Breakfast)

DAY 5, Wednesday - Depart Canada
Early morning group departure from Banff to Calgary International Airport for your departure flight. Passengers returning to Calgary from Banff on Day 5 should select flights that depart no earlier than 2:00 pm. Banff is approximately a two-hour drive from the Calgary International Airport. (Breakfast)

  • Passengers departing Banff to Calgary International Airport on Day 5 should select flights that depart no earlier than 2:00 pm. One group transfer will depart at approximately 8:00 am. Banff is approximately a two-hour drive from the Calgary International Airport. 
  • It is recommended that passengers select flights that arrive in Calgary no later than 5 pm on Day 1. 
  • All sightseeing and itinerary inclusions are subject to favorable weather conditions and seasonality. In those instances, and until the roads are available for travel, often unpredictable until the last moment, roads, routes and sites will be amended.
  • Triple rooms consist of two double/queen beds for three persons; where available, a fee may be charged by the hotel for the addition of a cot/rollaway.
  • This value program provides the comfort of an escorted tour, with the freedom to explore on your own. Minimal inclusions plus a variety of optional excursions allow maximum customization. 
  • This program is moderately active, unless all optional tours are selected. If so, this active program covers a fair amount of ground each day. 
  • Keep in mind that winter in the Canadian Rockies means snow, ice, and cold temperatures. Some venues are outdoors, so uneven and icy surfaces may be underfoot, therefore proper winter clothing and footwear are essential for your safety and comfort. 
  • The elevation in the National Parks varies and may be a consideration for those who have heart conditions or are otherwise affected by altitude.
