“Gemütlichkeit.” This German word does not have a translation in English but generally connotes feelings of being “laid-back” and “cheerful” along with a feeling of belonging and peace of mind. That’s the feeling Monograms wants you to have during your vacation to Munich. That’s why we’ve arranged for you to have the services of a Monograms Local Host®, someone who is there for you throughout your vacation to answer questions, offer suggestions, help arrange activities, and ensure your vacation runs smoothly. Plus, on this 4-day vacation, we've also arranged your hotel reservations, daily breakfast, and sightseeing.
Your vacation begins the moment you arrive in Munich, as we can pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. Here, your Local Host will greet you with a warm welcome and a set of materials to help familiarize you with the city, so you can begin exploring immediately. The next day, after included breakfast, we’ll pick you up at your hotel for guided sightseeing with an expert local guide. On your sightseeing, we’ll take you to BMW World, where you’ll learn more about German luxury cars, and to the park at Nymphenburg Palace, where Bavarian royalty used to spend summers. We’ll also take you to Marienplatz, the city's most famous square, where you’ll see the renowned Glockenspiel. This clock re-creates a royal wedding from the 16th century and is fascinating to watch. During your sightseeing tour, you'll hear inside stories and little-known secrets about the city from your Local Guide.
You’ll also have a free day to explore on your own. You may want to visit the famous Hofbräuhaus for a beer, or maybe just enjoy a brezel (pretzel) and beer at a local biergarten. Perhaps take an excursion to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles. Maybe explore the famous churches, such as the 500-year-old gothic Frauenkirche Cathedral, whose domes are a symbol of the city. Browse the Viktualienmarkt, a locals’ favorite for fresh produce, or just shop for typical souvenirs, such as beer steins and cuckoo clocks. Your Local Host will offer suggestions or guide you if you have any questions.
At Monograms, our goal is to make traveling easier for you. That's why we've arranged your hotel reservations, your guides, your sightseeing, and your daily breakfast. All you have to do is remember to bring your camera! Add the comfort of knowing you’ll have a Local Host with you throughout your stay, and you’ll likely not want to say, "Auf Wiedersehen" to Munich!
