![]() Welcome to Chicago, the "Windy City." Settle in at your hotel and start exploring on your own before meeting with your Travel Director this afternoon. Day 2 Chicago Sightseeing and Free Time This morning's sightseeing tour includes the famous Michigan Avenue, the "Magnificent Mile," the Wrigley Building, the Loop, the Lakefront and Millennium Park. This afternoon is at leisure for optional activities. Perhaps board an architecture cruise on the Chicago River, visit the Art Institute of Chicago or ride up to the top of the 360 Chicago Observation Deck. The choice is yours. This evening, perhaps consider trying one of Chicago's famous deep dish pizzas. Day 3 Chicago – Louisville Travel south to Louisville, where there is free time to pursue your own interests. Perhaps visit the famous Churchill Downs, the legendary thoroughbred racetrack that has hosted The Kentucky Derby since 1875 or the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory to learn the story behind the bat and the family company that still creates it. You could also visit the Muhammad Ali Center, dedicated to boxer Muhammad Ali, a tribute to the Louisville native. Day 4 Louisville – Nashville (2 Nights) This morning, visit a Bourbon distillery in Frankfort and discover the secrets involved in the making of the South's signature spirit before indulging in a tasting. Next, travel to Hodgenville where Abraham Lincoln was born. Visit the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park and the Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek. Continue south towards Nashville. This evening, head to the world-famous Grand Old Opry, home to America's longest running live radio program and enjoy a live country-music concert. (Continental Breakfast) Day 5 Nashville Sightseeing and Free Time Enjoy an orientation tour of Nashville, viewing the city's famous landmarks and Music Row recording studios. Visit historic RCA's Studio B, one of the world's most successful recording studios, where musicians such as Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, and the Everly Brothers recorded their iconic voices. Afterward, spend some time exploring the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to see memorabilia from stars such as Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn and Garth Brooks. Walk next to glittering costumes, rare instruments and Elvis' "solid gold" Cadillac. The afternoon is free for you to pursue your own interests. (Continental Breakfast) Day 6 Nashville – Memphis (2 Nights) Hit the highway to Memphis, "Home of the Blues," along the Mississippi Delta. On arrival, enjoy an orientation tour and see landmark locations like the Memphis Pyramid and National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. You'll also see famous Beale Street, lined with blues clubs, restaurants and much more. This evening, you may want to try some Memphis-style barbecue ribs, covered with a dry rub and eaten without sauce. (Continental Breakfast) Day 7 Graceland Visit and Free Time Graceland is as much an object of pilgrimage as a museum dedicated to the late, great Elvis Presley. Your guided audio tour focuses on the opulent 15,000-square-foot mansion. Marvel at the famous Jungle Room, stroll the grounds and see the Memorial Garden. The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps visit Sun Studios and the Civil Rights Museum. This evening, you may want to visit one of the many blues clubs on Beale Street. Day 8 Memphis – Clarksdale – Indianola Enjoy an Iconic Breakfast of Southern fare served family-style at one of the oldest cafés in Memphis. Then, travel deep into the heart of the Mississippi Delta, "Birthplace of the Blues." From the cotton fields, street corners and juke joints of the Mississippi Delta came a new kind of music-the blues. Visit the Delta Blues Museum, the state's oldest music museum, dedicated to exploring the history and heritage of this uniquely American musical form. Continue south to Indianola where you'll visit the BB King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center sharing the legacy and values of B.B. King celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta. (Iconic Breakfast) Day 9 Indianola – New Orleans (2 Nights) Head south to New Orleans, the "Crescent City." Get to know the city up close with a Local Specialist. Visit one of the unique above-ground cemeteries followed by a drive along historic Charles Avenue, bordered by stately mansions and see Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral. The rest of the day is at leisure. (Continental Breakfast) Day 10 New Orleans Sightseeing and Free Time This morning, revel in the history and culture of the Cajun people as you make your way to your swamp tour. Be on the lookout for distinctive wildlife and learn the secrets of local alligator hunters, fur trappers and fishermen aboard a guided boat tour of the swamps and backwater bayous of Louisiana. Back in New Orleans, the rest of the day is yours to explore on your own. Day 11 Depart New Orleans Bid farewell to your Travel Director and newfound friends as your tour comes to an end or extend your stay at the Wyndham in New Orleans.
