Glacier Express
The Glacier Express train connects the two railway stations of the major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. The train is equipped with panorama viewing cars allowing travelers to feel included in their natural surroundings. While on board, the journey itself is in fact the destination. The magnificient views can also be accompanied by a wealth of interesting route information either in German, French, English, Italian, Japanese or Chinese via headphones.
The 7½ hour railway journey goes across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass. There are many amenities for travelers onboard the train. The Glacier Express is wheelchair accessible and can accomadate pets. Also, drinks and snacks are available at all times and can be served at your seat. Some of the trains include a bar car with stools for enjoying a drink.
